The Director’s Heart
Do you remember the last time you experienced a challenging or difficult situation? Maybe you’re in the middle of one right now. Many times, things happen that we simply do not understand. Luckily, God doesn’t expect us to have everything figured out. A verse I have kept close during difficult times is Proverbs 3:5. “Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not onto your own understanding.” This past month has been a tough one for me. Several little things happened that just made life feel hard. Luckily, I could still recognize God’s goodness even during these difficult times. A couple of days ago, my daughter celebrated her 18th Birthday! Though I truly can’t believe that I am old enough to have an 18-year-old… it has been a complete joy watching her grow over the years! What a blessing it has been to be her mother.

I can share with you, though, that Proverbs 3:5 was something I had to cling to before we had Alivia. You see, my husband and I had been trying to have children for several years. When I finally became pregnant, we were overjoyed! We told our families and started planning and dreaming of life with a baby. Sadly, I miscarried that baby. We were completely heartbroken and I struggled with trying to understand WHY. My husband and I decided to trust in God and not try to figure it out. Not too long after, we were blessed with our daughter, Alivia, and shortly after, a son. Our story could have easily ended differently but either way, we were going to “Trust in the Lord with all our heart, and lean not unto our own understanding.”

I am not sure what led me to share such a personal story. Maybe it is because one of you needed to hear it, or maybe it is just a reminder to everybody that I am human. Along with a teacher that cares so much for your dancers, I am also a wife a mother, and a person who goes through things. Whatever the reason, I hope that the incredible reminder of God’s faithfulness will stick with you! Remember, don’t try to figure it all out on your own. Trust in HIM with all your heart. You will get through this!

Recital News
We are excited to present “Made for More,” our Spring Recital Production. Our production will be a celebration of all that God has created us for. More dreams, more memories, and more of him! The recital is scheduled for Saturday, May 10 at 1 PM in the Youth Auditorium. Dancers who received a ballet or lyrical costume last semester will wear the same costume. If your dancer just joined a ballet class, they will receive their costume in April. Dancers in non-ballet classes, like jazz, hip hop, or acrobatics, will receive a costume guide later this month with any costume items that you will need to get for the production. If you are new this semester, be sure to review the costume and production fees that will be charged to your April account so that you know what to expect. Dancers who are not new this semester will only be charged an additional fee if they joined a class that receives a costume (like ballet).

As the show gets closer, be on the lookout for information on the Daddy / Daughter recital dance, Virtual Shoutouts, Rehearsal, and Arrival Times.
